It is traditional to give your groomsmen a gift as a token of your appreciation for participating in your wedding. Coming up with a great wedding gift for the groomsmen is not always easy though especially with all the other wedding duties you already have to attend to.

Keep in mind that you do not have to get each groomsman the same thing. You can personalize the gift choices by getting each one something that reflects their interests or personality. Although each groomsman does not have to receive the exact same gift, you should try to spend approximately the same amount on each guy with a little bit more being spend on the best man since he carries additional responsibilities when it comes to participating in your wedding.

Here are some wedding gift suggestions for groomsmen based on different interests:

  • Beer Lovers - Join them in a beer of the month club. It doesn’t have to be for a full year. Three, six, and nine month subscriptions are also offered by many clubs. A home brewing kit also makes a fun gift idea for a groomsman that is a beer lover.

  • Golf Lovers - A nice golf polo shirt or a set of personalized golf balls and tees make great gifts for a groomsman that is a golf lover. If all the groomsmen love golf, a guys golf outing with the groom and all his groomsmen would make a gift they will all remember.

  • Sports Fans - For big sports fans, you could buy them tickets to go see their favorite team in action or buy them gift items such as clothing, home d้cor, or car accessories featuring their favorite sports team.

  • Cigar Lovers - Groomsmen who appreciate a good cigar every once in a while may also appreciate a cigar humidor as a gift. A box of fine cigars also makes a nice gift for a groomsman who is a cigar enthusiast.

  • Outdoor/Nature Lovers - For groomsmen that love the great outdoors, camping equipment or hiking gear makes a unique and thoughtful gift idea.

Remember not to get stressed out over choosing groomsmen gifts. Planning a wedding takes a lot of work and worrying too much over all the details will take some of the joy out of it. If you still aren’t sure what to get them, a gift certificate or a traditional groomsmen gift such as an engraved money clip or flask will always work too!

No matter if the wedding is grand or simple, the event is almost always marked with a wedding gift for the special couple. In times past, the gift was usually a household item. Embarking on their new life together meant buying their first house and living as a family. Linen, china and small kitchen appliances were given to help the couple set up their new house.

Today we find many couples living together before they have a wedding. At the time of their wedding their house is already set up. Which leads to the question, “What do we give the special couple to celebrate their vows to each other?”

For some, gifts have shifted from household items to personal items. Spa packages and pampering products are seen being given to the bride and sports tickets and sports equipment to the groom. Sometimes a special event package is added on to the honeymoon or plane tickets are upgraded to first class. Most resorts and cruise lines have fruit, flower and gourmet gift baskets that can be purchased and placed in the newlywed’s room for you.

For far away friends and family the gift search can be even more of a challenge. Gift cards although less than personal are, as they say, always the right size. Hiring a maid for the new couple to clean for a few months is a nice idea. Gift baskets filled with tasty delicacies the couple wouldn’t normally treat themselves to can be a delicious surprise. There is a wide variety of gift baskets to choose from containing everything from caviar and sparkling cider to brownies and muffins. A breakfast basket containing everything necessary for a wonderful gourmet breakfast might be just the unique gift you’re looking for.

If you still want to stick with the more traditional gifts like gifts for their home, there’s still some ideas out there. A personalized quilt is a unique idea and will be appreciated for many years to come. You could get the happy couple an upgraded appliance or a set of holiday dinnerware. A plaque for outside their home with their house number or name is a nice touch they may not have. A security system is a great idea for everyone’s home and a gift they will remember each time they close the door or turn off the light. A set of the finest sheets is something they may not treat themselves to but would definitely enjoy.

Although the social circumstances of marriages may have changed, our desire to celebrate the giving of vows has not. Adjusting our gift ideas can be challenging. Be careful to consider your newlyweds and what might mean the most to them when choosing their gift. Give from the heart and you can’t go wrong.

Attending a wedding is a very fun time. To share in the special ceremony of watching two devoted people join their lives together is a moving experience. One thing that will take some consideration is picking out the right present for them. A common solution is to just give the gift of money or pick something off of the bridal registry. While this is acceptable, there may be a better method.

If you really want to give a gift that will leave a lasting impression on the bride and groom, consider personalizing it. You can customize wedding gifts in a variety of ways. They are a nice reflection of your feelings for them, as you show that you care enough to put some thought into it. Your present will become a keepsake for their entire lives.

What Types Of Personalized Wedding Gifts Are Out There?

There are many different ideas you can use or you can combine several into one gift. There is no right way to do it, and each has its’ own unique charm that will be loved by the newlyweds. Some of the most personal of these gifts are ones that incorporate the wedding invitation right into the gift itself. This can be accomplished several different ways.

The first method is to frame the invitation in a nice frame, perhaps something that matches their houses’ decor. They will hang it up near their wedding photos as a constant reminder of the love they share with each other, and how you understood that when you had it framed.

A second creative method is to also use the wedding invitation, but have it placed directly on a candle. You can find some specialty candle shops that will do this, as long as you give them enough time before the big day. All you will need to do is give them a copy of the invitation and pick a nice candle. Before you know it you will have a personalized gift for the bride and groom.

A bottle of wine can alse become a nicely customized wedding gift. Many vineyards that you visit will allow you to create a personal label for the bottle. You can put the date as well as a nice message, or even put the date of their first anniversary on it. They can save the bottle until then, allowing them to open it and remember their wedding day one year before. Either of these two methods will work, and the wedding couple will be much appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

Personalized gifts are a great way to show the newly married couple how special they are to you. When it comes to purchasing the gifts, consider their personalities and try to choose something you know will bring a smile to their faces.

Do you want to play wedding gift roulette, or would you rather lessen your chances of receiving a ceramic sombrero chip bowl or a clapper by taking the time to fill out a wedding gift registry?

A wedding gift registry is the perfect way to let all of your guests know just what you need to start your new life together. A gift registry is a service offered by stores to couples that allows them to compile a personalized gift registry wish list that will help well wishers in choosing the perfect present.

You may even be surprised to find out just how many stores offer a gift registry, both on-line and off. Be sure to fill out a gift registry for both to accommodate guests who prefer on-line shopping as well as guests who like to shop in person.

    Gift Registry Made Simple

Whether you plan to use an on-line gift registry or a gift registry at a local store, the process is very much the same for both.

    * Ask for a gift registry form at the store or click on the

gift registry link at a website in order to receive a

    detailed list of gift ideas.

    * Take time to browse through the suggested items to find a

brand that you would prefer for certain items, and check

out other gift registry items you hadn’t previously

considered, or may have overlooked for your gift registry

    list.

    * Place a check by the gift registry items that you’d most

like to receive, and if applicable, the number you need

    such as eight place settings.

    * When you have finished, either return your gift registry

list to the store’s customer service department, or submit

    your on-line gift registry.

There is one sticky gift registry issue that many couples find difficulty handling. What to do when you’d rather receive money than fill out a gift registry?

Many couples would simply like to receive a monetary gift that will help them pay for a honeymoon trip or the down payment on a mortgage, and skip the gift registry all together. But can you just ask your guests to give you money without seeming rude? The answer is probably not. Why? Because your guests are just that; guests. While receiving gifts from a gift registry is nice, it shouldn’t be implied as a requirement for attending.

The best idea would be to provide a list of stores holding your gift registry list, while simultaneously having your closest friends and relatives ‘leak’ out the information that you could really use a monetary gift much more. This way, many guests will get the message, and you get to avoid the impression of being rude.

    Gift Registry Tips

    * Register with at least one national chain store’s gift

registry as a courtesy to your out-of-town quests.

    * Be sure to choose items in all price ranges on your gift

    registry.

    * Include a list of stores that have your gift registry list

when you send out your shower and wedding invitations.

A wedding gift registry simply makes good sense. Unless of course, you really want to pull that sombrero chip hat out of the closet every time Aunt Hattie comes to visit.
